Treat your humans to an unforgettable stay on the western shores of the Rhins of Galloway, a fantastic location for superb walks, breathtaking scenery, and all the rabbits you can chase. Your humble abode for your staycation is this charming cottage on the outskirts of Portpatrick, which sleeps five guests along with two hounds. Pack your basket and all your essentials ready for adventure, and you’ll soon be padding across the beach at low tide and enjoying seafood suppers with your beloved owners.

Inside, the property is cosy and charming with comfortable furniture and unique decor. You’ll waste no time figuring out the best snoozing spots, curling up by the multi-fuel stove as your owner sips a wee dram in the lounge. The kitchen will be the delight of any budding chef, leaving you no choice but to beg for a sample as they prepare fabulous feasts. At bedtime, there are three gorgeous bedrooms to choose from, and there’s no need to worry about muddy paw prints – hose down messy paws in the handy bathroom. Outside, the garden is safely enclosed for endless games of fetch and sunny snoozes on the patio.

Portpatrick itself is a delightful fishing village popular for sea angling, boasting a dog-friendly beach at low tide and an array of welcoming eateries. There are plenty of trails to explore nearby, but no visit is complete without a day trip to the Mull of Galloway, which is well worth the 22-mile journey. Famed for being the most southerly point of Scotland, it is home to an iconic lighthouse, an RSPB centre, and a quirky coffee shop on the edge of the cliff. You can also take a trip to Belfast by Ferry from Cairnryan 12.5 miles away for an exciting trip.

Spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, cosy and spotlessly clean accommodation a few minutes' drive from Portpatrick and only slightly further from Stranraer. The owner was also very friendly and helpful.
