This fabulous coastal bolthole, with glorious sea views, sleeps six guests and two furry pals. Take a sunset stroll to the beautiful sandy beach, less than 1 mile away, and admire Sean Henry’s impressive sculpture – Couple – on the breakwater. You’re also just 30 miles from the dramatic ruggedness and dog-walking delights of Northumberland National Park.
The stylish property is full of touches to make your stay extra special, including quirky artwork and vibrant pops of colour. The bright and spacious lounge, with its high ceiling and far-reaching sea views, is a great place to relax together after a fun day of exploring. Gather in the kitchen/diner, around the chic breakfast bar, to plan your next adventure. This is a great spot for the pups to set up camp, with doors leading out onto the enclosed garden. The south-facing patio area is equipped with outdoor seating and a BBQ, so you can enjoy long summer evenings under the stars. There’s also a small patio area to the front of the property, where you and the hounds can sit with a glass of wine and a dog chew and watch the horses grazing in the meadow.
Newbiggin-by-the-Sea has a fabulous little sandy beach, and the south end is paw-friendly all year. However, if your canine chums really want to stretch their legs, head to Druridge Bay, 12 miles up the coast. Here you’ll find 7 miles of golden sand where the pups can run and play to their hearts’ content, before having a good rummage in the grassy dunes. A further 25 miles along the coast is Bamburgh Castle. The 1,400-year-old fortress, with striking sea views, welcomes four-legged visitors in its cafe and 9 acres of land, and there are medieval games to keep little ones entertained.
