This pretty cottage, located just 5 miles from Swanage Beach where pups are welcome all year on the part named Monkey Beach, is ideal for you, your guests and up to three hounds. Sleeping six over three cosy bedrooms, it won’t be long before you’re all up and about and ready to explore this stunning coast and country. Let waggy tails unleash it all in Kimmeridge Bay (6.5 miles) or take a ride on the Swanage Railway, where the Norden Station is just 1.5 miles from your door.
The property, reached via one step and which boats wonderful views of the ruins of Corfe Castle (2.5 miles) from the lounge and dining room, is a comfortable and welcoming place. Curl up with a book in front of the open fire in the lounge, or cook up a storm for everyone in the kitchen and dine alfresco in the garden. The rear gate takes you onto the footpath leading directly to Corfe Common. Upstairs, the contemporary bedrooms offer a tranquil night’s sleep; wake up among calming neutral colours and head to the stylish bathroom for an invigorating shower.
Make sure you visit Corfe Castle Model Village (1 mile) as well as the ruins; dogs are welcome to sniff around as long as they are kept on leads in the mini village. The 280-acre Durlston Country Park (7 miles) is well worth a visit, where you can wander through the park gazing out across open downland. RSPB Arne (6 miles) gives you the opportunity to see wild sika deer as well as wading birds, and maybe the woodlark if you’re lucky. Delight the children with the legend that the Devil threw a 400-tonne block of sandstone, known as Agglestone Rock (6.5 miles), from the Isle of Wight to try to hit Corfe Castle!
