This charming stylish detached cottage with wood burner perfect for cosy nights in, is located amid beautiful countryside in the pretty hamlet of Longnewton, within easy reach of great local amenities

Treat the pack to a cosy stay on the Scottish Borders, snuggling down by the fire in this enchanting cottage that’s packed with home comforts and doggy delights. If Fido isn’t snoozing by the wood burner, he’ll be having a ball outside, sniffing out wonderful adventures across the beautiful surrounding countryside. The friendly owners have really thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible such as a thoughtful welcome pack, and even offer pooch-sitting if you are keen to make use of the local golf and fishing opportunities.

Kick-off your boots and step inside to warm up, delighting in the warm and homely lounge/kitchen/diner. Relax with a wee dram on the sofas as the resident chef sizzles up something special in the kitchen, gathering together for delicious meals and chatter that lasts well into the night. Throw open the French doors on balmy evenings and enjoy al fresco drinks and a BBQ on the patio, retiring inside for a refreshing shower before bed. The ground-floor bedroom has ample space for a basket or two, and the spiral staircase leads up to the quirky master bedroom with its gorgeous en-suite featuring a double-ended bath. Outside, Fido can play safely in the enclosed garden, and there is off-road parking for two cars.

A walkers paradise, you’ll be spoilt for choice of where to explore first; choosing exciting trails such as St Cuthbert’s Way from Melrose 7.5 miles away, factoring in a visit to the iconic Melrose Abbey ruins. Keen fishermen can cast their line on the River Tweed 9 miles away, fishing for salmon and trout with guided fishing trips. A short 9-mile drive will bring you to Jedburgh, an ancient town famous for its abbey, castle jail, and Mary Queen of Scot’s House.

An absolute great cottage ,very comfortable and clean.When you arrive you have time to unpack and enjoy the cottage without being disturbed.Karen came over and made sure all was well and showed us where everything was.The hot tub was great even played our music and was cleaned every day.I can highly recommend this cottage for a great relaxing holidRead moreay ,and only minutes from the shops by car. We had an amazing stay at Greenknowe cottage over Xmas. We were nervous initially choosing to go away at the time of year but we need not have been! The cottage surpassed our expectations being fully decorated and Karen provided everything we needed for a beautiful family Xmas. It was clean and homely and we enjoyed the wonderful hot tub too. This little home from home was beautiful, had everything we needed and more. Dogs loved it too. Would definitely book again as it was everything we expected and more. Our host was amazingly friendly.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and extremely well presented with everything you can think of. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. Superb and worth the little extra. The hosts were very friendly and helpful providing some fresh eggs and milk as well as a large supply of coffee pods. The location is fantastic in east reach of Melrose, Jedburgh, Read moreKelso and other local towns and attractions. Beds were very comfy and the shower really powerful. We had a lovely stay at Greenknowe Cottage. The cottage is very cosy with more than enough space for a family of 4. Having 2 sitting rooms was great for when people needed their own space. The hot tub was a brilliant way to relax at the end of the day. We visited Edinburgh and the Falkirk Wheel whilst we were there and also got to the Beach at ColdRead moreingham Bay. Just returned home after a great holiday at Greenknowe Cottage. Lovely quiet location and so so cosy. No matter how hard I try, I cant fault the accommodated or owner Karen. Was nicely stocked on our arrival (milk, eggs, biscuits, bowl of fruit, etc etc). We will DEFINITELY be coming back - going as far as saying this year

Very enjoyable and relaxing stay at Greenknowe Cottage. We'll situated for days out around the Scottish Borders. Plenty to see and do. The cottage itself is well equipped and comfortable.

We enjoyed a wonderful week in Greenknowe; the cottage is perfect and the location is stunning. We visited 16 different places including Stirling and Edinburgh, all within a comfortable driving distance. Many thanks indeed to our host Karen who made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.

A real home from home. We travelled with a 14 year old and a 6 month old. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Karen provided a highchair and 2 travel cots, one for sleeping and one to use as a play pen. We found Karen to be extremely accommodating but not intrusive, without asking she changed the swing in the garden to Read morea seat suitable for the baby. On one night Karen invited us to feed the horse and sheep which we really enjoyed. Very clean. Highly recommend!!! Hide

A lovely, homely holiday cottage. Very clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The inside and outside spaces were ideal. The enclosed garden was great for the dog. Superb little cottage, I say little but its very roomy with everything you could possibly need for a couple of weeks stay! Hot tub lovely and the garden for the dogs & kids perfect. Lovely part of the world with lots to see & do. Dogs loved it, teenagers happy for the great wifi connection

Lots of little touches, fresh flowers, milk, eggs, Selkirk bannock, butter, jams all were very welcomed and much appreciated and unexpected. Karen was a very friendly host and had time to have a little chat if we met but was not intrusive. Highly recommend and we had a lovely week visiting lots of places.
