Enjoy the comfort of this delightful cottage at the heart of Exmoor National Park with your four-legged friend, swapping the stresses of modern life for spectacular scenery and complete solitude. Warmed throughout by underfloor heating and finished in a traditional country-cottage style, it’s perfect for up to six guests with two canine companions in tow. The handy location means that you could soon be scampering across the romantic wilderness of Exmoor, splashing through crystal-clear streams, meandering through ancient woodland, and scaling dramatic hills at leisure.

Accessed via a small ford, this detached cottage is as enchanting as it is cosy. Light the wood burner and relax in the lounge whilst supper cooks in the kitchen/diner, teasing the hound with the delicious smells wafting through. When it is time for bed, three gorgeous bedrooms are upstairs along with an elegant bathroom that boasts a fantastic roll-top bath. One of the bedrooms has the added treat of an en-suite shower room, and if you need additional sleeping spots the downstairs snug room has a sofa bed. Outside, the sunny patio is a haven for al fresco drinks, and there are steps leading down to an enclosed lawn bordering a stream. No need to worry about messy paws, there’s a utility room in the property that can be accessed through a separate door.

Clip-on Rover’s lead and let him sniff for rabbits as you hike up to Dunkery Beacon 5 miles away, or enjoy a waterside stroll around the Tarr Steps, which are a 5-mile drive in the opposite direction. Venturing further afield by 6 miles will bring you to charming Withypool, a village known for its pretty tearoom and unspoilt surroundings, but if you are in the mood for some retail therapy, the historic town of Dunster is just 8 miles away.

  • 3 Bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 double and 1 twin zip-and-link (which can be made into a super-king-size on request)

Love Bailiffs Cottage. The photos dont do it justice. Its a wonderful idyll, a peaceful home from home. We would have stayed longer but understandably it was fully booked. Access to the estate was a wonderful bonus, and the dogs loved it too.

We have never felt so comfortable from the first day we arrived at Bailiff Cottage. It was warm, cosy, spottlessly clean and so pretty. The scenery and peace and quiet were amazing - just what we needed to reboot before Christmas. We would certainly recommend to friends and we will certainly be returning again.

Just perfect... The cottage itself was better than the online images show. The valley was great, the dog loved the space to run about and we humans enjoyed the wooded area. The surrounding area was beautiful (exciting driving some of the country roads !) Couldn't fault the week we've just had at Bailiffs Cottage..
