This unique holiday home is in the quaint village of Wensley, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Sleeping four guests and one waggy-tailed chum, the cottage makes a wonderful couples’ retreat or base for a group of friends. The vibrant market town of Leyburn is 2.5 miles away and nearby paw-friendly attractions include Aysgarth Falls (7 miles) and Wensleydale Railway (2.5 miles).

The cottage sits next to the tracks of the heritage Wensleydale Railway and the former train station waiting rooms have been lovingly restored to create this luxurious holiday home. Each room boasts elegant furniture, opulent accessories, and statement original features, to create a truly unique backdrop to your holiday. The heart of the home is a spacious lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up fabulous feasts to enjoy together at the antique-style dining table. The cosy lounge area has an eclectic mix of seating set around a SkyTV; as you unwind in front of a movie, Rover can enjoy a little doze in the warmth of the open fire. The property has two luxurious bedrooms with plush soft furnishings and ample storage. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a separate bathroom. The open-aspect garden has a choice of private seating areas and for an evening of al fresco entertaining, you’ll find outdoor crockery, glassware, and a BBQ in the shed.

There are some fantastic dog walks to embark on in and around the village, including along the River Ure and to the hidden beauty spot of Wensley Waterfall. Further afield, the spectacular Aysgarth Falls make a delightful doggy day out on a hot day, with plenty of shady, woodland tracks to scamper along and pretty picnic spots next to the water. The bustling market town of Leyburn has a great range of independent shops and eateries. The town also hosts a regular market, where you can pick up delicious local produce, including the iconic Wensleydale cheese.

Delightful location and the characterful property renovated to high standard. Bedrooms, bathrooms fantastic but the combined cooking, eating, relaxation room would be a tight squeeze for 4 people. Walkers beware - no space to hang up and dry wet clothing! Also it is a shame the outside dining table/chairs have been left in the open are badly discolRead moreoured with watermarks and mould. Also bin cupboard positively unsanitary. That said we were cosy and comfortable inside and had an enjoyable break Hide

A very comfortable and luxurious experience in this cottage. It was extremely relaxing in this quiet location. A very generous welcome pack was provided and thoroughly enjoyed. The weather was wild and wet for much of our stay, but the cottage was a cosy retreat. We would love to return.

The cottage has been upgraded to a very high specification. They have spared no cost in the fixtures and fittings particularly in the bedrooms and bathrooms. A stunning property in a peaceful location. The bedrooms, bathrooms and garden are amazing although the open plan living space is a little small which made food prep awkward. You also feel like you're sitting in the kitchen so not very cosy. Easy to find, good access and plenty to do locally.

Beautifully maintained cottage with great outside space including the former platform. Well equipped with some original features still in place. Well placed for walking, some trails from the property and for local towns such as Leyburn Hawes and Masham. Peaceful rural location. Local pub a short drive away.

The primary bedroom and en-suite shower room exceed expectations in terms of luxury and size but the second bedroom is disproportionately small and lacks finesse and this could prove problematic if two couples were holidaying together. The bathroom down a flight of stairs from this bedroom is very nice. The sitting/ dining/ food preparation area isRead more cramped. The outside space is well thought out and there are a variety of seating areas all with very nice furniture. Hide
