Sleeping four guests and one waggy-tailed chum, the cottage makes a wonderful couples’ retreat or base for a group of friends. The vibrant market town of Leyburn is 2.5 miles away and nearby paw-friendly attractions include Aysgarth Falls (7 miles) and Wensleydale Railway (2.5 miles).
The cottage sits next to the tracks of the heritage Wensleydale Railway and the former train station waiting rooms have been lovingly restored to create this luxurious holiday home. Each room boasts elegant furniture, opulent accessories, and statement original features, to create a truly unique backdrop to your holiday. The heart of the home is a spacious lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up fabulous feasts to enjoy together at the antique-style dining table. The cosy lounge area has an eclectic mix of seating set around a SkyTV; as you unwind in front of a movie, Rover can enjoy a little doze in the warmth of the open fire. The property has two luxurious bedrooms with plush soft furnishings and ample storage. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a separate bathroom. The open-aspect garden has a choice of private seating areas and for an evening of al fresco entertaining, you’ll find outdoor crockery, glassware, and a BBQ in the shed.
There are some fantastic dog walks to embark on in and around the village, including along the River Ure and to the hidden beauty spot of Wensley Waterfall. Further afield, the spectacular Aysgarth Falls make a delightful doggy day out on a hot day, with plenty of shady, woodland tracks to scamper along and pretty picnic spots next to the water. The bustling market town of Leyburn has a great range of independent shops and eateries. The town also hosts a regular market, where you can pick up delicious local produce, including the iconic Wensleydale cheese.
