This traditional Scottish property, with breathtaking Highland views, is the perfect location for a large family gathering or a getaway with friends. The elegant property sleeps ten guests and two woofers, and is ideally situated for a plethora of local walks around Loch Ness and is also just 18.5 miles from the bustling city of Inverness and just over 20 miles from the historic hamlet of Fort Augustus, with its quaint little shops, woollen mill and spectacular views of Loch Ness.

The spacious house is full of character, with beautiful exposed beams and fascinating paintings and artefacts adorning the walls. Enter the property into the hall, where there’s ample room to store all your dog-walking gear. The fabulous dining area is designed for entertaining, with room for you to all enjoy mealtimes together and admire the spectacular views over the glen. From here, doors lead onto the terrace so the pups can drift outside for some fresh air. There are plenty of places for you to relax, including two lounge areas – one with an open fire, the other a wood burner – and a cosy snug overlooking the glen. Dine on the terrace in summer months, whilst the canine guests play on the lawn.

Head north to Inverness for a day out full of variety. Explore the historic sites of the city, before heading 16 miles along the coast to the gorgeous beach at Nairn. The pristine white sand, turquoise water and low dunes are the perfect playground for the pups and, what’s more, they’re welcome on the beach all year. Closer to home, why not pull on your hiking boots and climb Meall Fuar-mhonaidh (5 miles away)? The highest hill around Loch Ness offers stunning views over the water and on a clear day you can see Ben Nevis.

Fantastic holiday, the house is very comfortable and the location is beautiful. We loved the studio room and spending time in the garden. Great walks from the lodge and was an excellent base fir Loch Ness, The Black Isles and Skye. Would love to come back again.

A wonderful Lodge full of charm and character. You can feel the history oozing from the walls and surroundings. Feels like a home not a holiday let which is always a bonus. Well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Location and surroundings amazing with views to die for. Brian the caretaker could not have been more friendly and helpful.

On the whole, this was a wonderful property to spend a holiday in, the location spectacular and the character of the house highly original. There were just a few things that could easily be improved for a better value for money rating. We had problems accessing WiFi in the bedrooms, despite the two different possible connections.
