This coastal property sleeps six guests and two canine chums. Located in the charming village of Combe Martin, with a delightful dog-friendly pub as well as cute cafes and independent shops, you’ll find plenty to keep everyone entertained. North Devon’s iconic dog-friendly beaches are within easy reach, with Woolacombe’s golden sand and rolling waves just 10 miles away and the unique biosphere of Braunton Burrows less than 15 miles from the property.
A small flight of steps leads to this gorgeous detached house, which boasts a patio to the front of the property with spectacular sea views – the perfect spot for a glass of wine, with the hounds curled at your feet. The spacious lounge also has waterside views and a roaring wood burner for snuggling up after a windy beach walk. The open-plan kitchen/diner is a great social space, with bar stools so you can chat whilst preparing meals. From here, French doors lead to the enclosed rear courtyard, so your faithful friends can roam in and out. There is rear pedestrian access to the courtyard, as well as an outdoor tap, which means you don’t have to traipse sandy paws and muddy boots through the house.
Pick up the South West Coast Path in Combe Martin and follow it along the rugged 14-mile route to Woolacombe, where you’ll be greeted with golden sand and a great selection of woof-friendly eateries. There is a dog restriction on the first part of the beach in summer months, but with 3 miles to explore it’s easy to escape the crowds. Alternatively, head to the historic seaside town of Ilfracombe. Potter around the picturesque harbour and marvel at Damien Hirst’s Verity statue or grab fish and chips and climb Capstone Hill to admire the far-reaching views along the coast.
