Beadnell beach (6 miles) is the perfect spot for some bucket and spade fun in the sheltered horseshoe bay. Keep an eye out for when to pop on leads during bird-breeding season. There are plenty of walks along this Heritage coast with sand dunes to explore and wear out those four-pawed feet. Keeping to the surrounding fields, you can admire the impressive Dunstanburgh Castle ruins, a National Trust property (6 miles) accessible via a beautiful 1-mile walk from the village of Craster.
