This period property has been lovingly restored to combine contemporary style with original features. The spacious lounge has high ceilings and is flooded with light, thanks to the French doors that open out onto the large enclosed lawned garden. The dogs will love dozing here, in front of the wood burner, or pottering in and out to the garden on a hot day. The large dining area accommodates everyone and is a great area for evening meals, no doubt with the woofers hovering around your feet for leftovers! There’s a handy porch and hallway for storing the dog-walking gear and outside there are a swing, slide and garden games to keep the kids entertained.
For peace and tranquillity, head to Hartland Abbey (9.5 miles) and admire the stunning 12th-century architecture. Dogs can join you in the walled garden and woodlands and there’s also a gorgeous walk down to the beach. The coastal town of Bude (10 miles) makes a great day out. Spend the day on dog-friendly Summerleaze Beach rock pooling, building sandcastles or learning to surf, then grab some fish and chips and head up to the cliffs to watch the waves crashing or perhaps take a stroll along the canal. For family fun, journey to The Milky Way Adventure Park (10 miles). Dogs can join you in the grounds whilst the adrenaline-seekers enjoy the rollercoasters and rides.
