Enjoy a romantic getaway in this pretty detached property with your trusty companions at your side. This rural retreat is perfectly positioned for countryside strolls with the hounds and is also less than 20 miles from the golden sandy beaches at Tenby and Saundersfoot where you’ll find a whole host of water-based activities during the summer months. Alternatively, immerse yourself in culture and visit one of the nearby historic sites such as Narberth or Pembroke Castle (10 and 20 miles away, respectively).
The traditional Welsh cottage has bags of character and charm, with its cute picket fence and rambling creepers around the doorway. The roaring wood burner and russet tones make the lounge area warm and inviting – the perfect spot to snuggle up, with the woofers at your feet, after a long walk in the countryside. Hard floors run throughout the ground floor, making dealing with dirty pawprints nice and easy. Outside, there’s an enclosed front patio where you can enjoy a morning coffee whilst the dogs stretch their legs.
The little market town of Narberth (10 miles) has some lovely independent shops, as well as excellent dog-friendly pubs and cafes. The museum also welcomes dogs on leads and offers a fascinating insight into the history and culture of the area. On a sunny day, pack a picnic and head to the medieval castle at Pembroke, where dogs can join you for a romantic stroll around the grounds. To give the four-legged ones a good run, why not journey down to Tenby (20 miles)? The dog-friendly South Beach is perfect for burning some energy, thanks to the 2-mile stretch of golden sand. The pretty harbour is also lovely to potter around with an ice cream on a lazy afternoon, just remember to keep the hounds on a lead.
