Experience off-grid living at its finest at this beautifully converted barn, on a working farm in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and welcoming two waggy-tailed friends, this pretty property in the hamlet of Kencot sits within acres of farmland that you are free to explore. You are sure to love the secluded location and your pups are certain to enjoy running free in the garden with post and rail fencing.
Taking its energy from a generator and wind turbine, staying at this off-grid barn is a truly unique experience. Step inside and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and the eclectic style of the decor. Cook up a storm in the beautifully-finished kitchen with its bespoke cabinets and granite worktops, and then serve up your feast in the dining area, which is set in the heart of the barn conversion with farmland views. Alternatively, step outside onto the patio and dine alfresco while your dogs enjoy the freedom of the enclosed garden. After dinner, stretch out in front of the wood burner in the lounge area, or retire with a good book to the cosy snug. When the day is done, climb the wooden stairs up to the first floor where you will find two gorgeous bedrooms to choose from.
Well behaved pups are welcome at the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens (3.5 miles), although they aren’t allowed indoors or into the Bat Belfry, Reptile House, Children’s Farmyard or any areas with free-ranging animals. Your four-legged friends are also welcome at Stanway House and Fountain (25 miles), where you can see the tallest gravity fountain in the world and explore the wonderful water garden, which dates back to the 1720s.
