There’s no need to get in the car to stretch the hounds’ legs, as there are numerous walks from the doorstep across the rolling countryside. However, if you do fancy venturing a little further, why not head to Eype Beach (4 miles away)? The secluded beach is dog friendly all year and sits beneath the towering peak of Golden Cap. From here, you can follow the South West Coast Path for 1.5 miles to the popular resort of West Bay. Although dogs aren’t allowed on the beach in summer, you’ll still enjoy pottering around the harbour and exploring the locations made famous by the ITV drama Broadchurch. On Saturdays, the nearby town of Bridport (2 miles away) hosts a bustling farmers’ market. There’s always a great atmosphere and it’s a fantastic opportunity to try some great local produce.
