From here, patio doors lead onto the split-level enclosed garden, where the pups can have a good old sniff and explore. The stylish kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal, as well as ample room for the dog beds. Outside, on the lower terrace, there’s plenty of room to store your beach gear and also hose down sandy paws. On the upper level, there’s a BBQ and outdoor furniture for al fresco dining.
Spend a relaxing day at St Mary’s Bay, which welcomes four-legged visitors all year. Accessed via steep steps, it’s a lovely secluded spot and from here you can also join the South West Coast Path, where you can stride out along the clifftops and look for dolphins playing in the bay. You can also walk to Berry Head National Nature Reserve from here (approx. 1 mile). Board the woof-friendly steam train in Paignton (5 miles away) and enjoy a peaceful jaunt along the spectacular Torbay coast and Dart estuary to Kingswear, where you can take the foot passenger ferry to Dartmouth to join one of the fabulous river cruises.
