This truly majestic and unusual property could be the perfect site for your next family reunion or special break away with friends. Sleeping eight humans and two dogs, there is plenty of room for everyone in this beautiful house. In the midst of the Gloucester countryside and with the natural treasures of the Forest of Dean on your doorstep, your dogs will enjoy some very special walks.

The property is a large family house, laid out over three floors, with traditional country features and elegant modern interiors. The main hub is your glorious open-plan living space. The kitchen is a sleek, chef’s dream, with a central island perfect for long, leisurely baking sessions. The dining space sits close by, a stunning formal setup, great for a celebratory occasion. When you’re full and sleepy, head through to the cosy den with its exposed stone fireplace and wood burner where you and the pups can stretch out and relax or head to the inviting lounge and watch a film. The bedrooms sit over the first and second floors, and enjoy views out over the sweeping forested landscape. All have en-suite bathrooms and are decorated stylishly in deep, restful tones and sumptuous details. The space outside the property is ideal for eager dogs — the conservatory leads out to a patio and up onto an enclosed stretch of lawn.

The River Lyd drifts by the end of your garden, calling you on to discover this mysterious terrain. You’ll want to get your walking boots on and start your exploration of the Forest of Dean. Begin in the traditional Gloucestershire village of Whitecroft. The two village inns are both friendly. From here, you can wander into the forest by way of trails heading off from the village. Your dog will love bounding along the banks of the River Wye.

The cottage was lovely & warm the whole weekend. Bonus having the conservatory. All the bedrooms were large & kitchen well equipped. We all enjoyed staying & wished we had more time to explore Great being close to the Miners Arms for a very good Sunday lunch.

A fantastic space for a family gathering. Every bedroom is very comfortable with good en suite facilities. The communal areas are so spacious with interesting ornaments and homely touches. Great outside space which is enclosed so ideal for a dog. Steve next door is really helpful and always on hand. We had a fab Christmas break in the house.

The property was decorated and equipped to a high standard, and neighbour, Steve, is very helpful. It was a great location for visiting attractions in the Forest of Dean, with a pub 2 doors away and a station for the steam railway a couple of minutes walk.

Everything about the property was of the highest quality: very well equipped and furnished. It is conveniently located near a pub and a take away. All communication during the booking and check-in process was handled efficiently and there was a neighbour on hand for our arrival. Even the welcome basket was the best weve ever had.
