Further afield lies Auchterarder, 6.5 miles west, which is known as the ‘Lang Toon' thanks to its Main Street, which stretches for 1.5 miles and is lined on both sides with a variety of shops, pubs and cafes. Alternatively, head north-east for 11 miles to the historic city of Perth, where urban hounds will find a wide range of supermarkets, shops and eateries; Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park is well worth a visit for its quirky cliff-side tower, enchanting Dragon's Hole cave and stick-chasing opportunities.
