When it’s time to go back into civilisation, the town of Alness (13 miles) has plenty of shops, pubs, a leisure centre, and supermarkets. The walk up to the Fyrish Monument (11.5 miles) is highly recommended – this 4-mile round route through pretty woodland is sure to get the bark of approval from your pets.
