  • Homely  spacious cottage in a beautiful location on the western edge of Skye
  • Peaceful with amazing panoramic views of  Dunvegan Head and across to The Outer Hebrides
  • Relax by the cosy open coal fire after a day out exploring the beautiful Island of Skye
Property code: CA229

High on a hillside on the western edge of Skye sits this pretty whitewashed bungalow, brimming with rustic charm and homely touches.

Get away from it all with your four-legged friends in this remote cottage on the west coast of beautiful Skye. Surrounded by rugged landscapes peppered with cottages and far-reaching views to Dunvegan Head and out to sea, this is a dream location for dogs and their humans too.

The charming bungalow has a welcoming feel and makes the most of the views from its elevated position. Cosy up in the living room with the open fire roaring, or stretch out on a sofa in the bright sitting room with a book from the extensive collection. The spacious kitchen offers plenty of scope to avoid dogs and children under your feet, and there's a dining table in the window that's ideal for spreading out maps or colouring books before tea. Children will be delighted to discover a bunk bedroom, and there's a further twin plus the master double bedroom too. The cottage is one of two holiday properties within enclosed shared grounds, so dogs and children can play safely outside while you relax on the picnic table and enjoy the last of the summer sun with an evening drink.

It's about 3 miles to Glendale for the local shop and cafe plus a children's playpark. There are several walks in the immediate area - for some spectacular views from cliff peaks that rise to 650 feet high in places, walk the coastal path from the house towards Oisgill Bay, about 4 miles. Neist Lighthouse is 3 miles from the house, where you can stroll along the headland to spot dolphins, whales and porpoise, and Dunvegan Castle, 10 miles away, is also well worth a visit - take a boat trip to see the Loch Dunvegan seal colony up close and pretty dog-friendly gardens.

The cottage is well equipped for large families/ groups, it is comfortable and clean. The view from north facing windows are spectacular. There are two Stags who stroll around the property late at night and early morning.

Lovely spacious warm cottage, with amazing enclosed space for the dogs to run about. Loved the second sitting room - the views! - and kingsize bed. Fantastic location if you prefer the remote. Views of the sea and the cliffs across from the houses living room, really handy on those colder windier and rainier days. Loved the place. House was comfortable, warm, well equipped and we felt very much at home. 100% recommend

Wonderful location, secluded, remote and beautiful in all weathers. The cottage needs some deep cleaning, repair and updating but this did not detract from our stay

Good size cottage for six in a quiet location, good parking. Allow plenty of time for travel it will take you 30 minutes to travel to the A road. As Lots of traffic heading to the light house in August. Some great walks in and around the cottage. If you just want to sit in the garden some fantastic views. A fabulous cottage with stunning views. Arrived to a warm cottage, the heating was on, with all the necessaries to make a comfortable time during our stay. The Isle of Skye is breathtaking. We will be going back and hopefully the council will have repaired the roads. There's pot holes everywhere! That's the only negative about our trip
