High on a hillside on the western edge of Skye sits this pretty whitewashed bungalow, brimming with rustic charm and homely touches.
Get away from it all with your four-legged friends in this remote cottage on the west coast of beautiful Skye. Surrounded by rugged landscapes peppered with cottages and far-reaching views to Dunvegan Head and out to sea, this is a dream location for dogs and their humans too.
The charming bungalow has a welcoming feel and makes the most of the views from its elevated position. Cosy up in the living room with the open fire roaring, or stretch out on a sofa in the bright sitting room with a book from the extensive collection. The spacious kitchen offers plenty of scope to avoid dogs and children under your feet, and there's a dining table in the window that's ideal for spreading out maps or colouring books before tea. Children will be delighted to discover a bunk bedroom, and there's a further twin plus the master double bedroom too. The cottage is one of two holiday properties within enclosed shared grounds, so dogs and children can play safely outside while you relax on the picnic table and enjoy the last of the summer sun with an evening drink.
It's about 3 miles to Glendale for the local shop and cafe plus a children's playpark. There are several walks in the immediate area - for some spectacular views from cliff peaks that rise to 650 feet high in places, walk the coastal path from the house towards Oisgill Bay, about 4 miles. Neist Lighthouse is 3 miles from the house, where you can stroll along the headland to spot dolphins, whales and porpoise, and Dunvegan Castle, 10 miles away, is also well worth a visit - take a boat trip to see the Loch Dunvegan seal colony up close and pretty dog-friendly gardens.
