Approach the property via a private driveway, and you’ll be greeted by a grand entrance hall. Inside, the drawing room offers deep, comfortable sofas, an open fire, and a piano for evening singalongs. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with everything a holiday chef could need. Plan your day over breakfast at the kitchen table overlooking the garden, while the formal dining room, adorned with wood panelling and traditional artwork, is perfect for sociable gatherings and special meals. You can access three marked trails from your front door, leading you through picturesque landscapes with plenty of wildlife to entertain curious hounds along the way. Explore the Caledonian Canal (5.5 miles) for a scenic walk to Neptune’s Staircase, keeping an eye out for the Harry Potter Express at Banavie (8 miles). Don’t miss Fort William (8.5 miles), known as the ’Outdoor Capital of the UK,’ where you can begin hikes around Ben Nevis on tail-wagging walks to remember.

Love this place, our third visit. Such good value for money, really warm and well equipped. Spacious enough for 11 adults. So quiet and peaceful. Ample parking, easy access and stunning walks from the property. Pool table was very popular. We enjoyed cosy breakfasts in the kitchen and posh dinners in the lovely dining room.

A fabulous, beautiful and relaxing venue for our large family gathering! The house provided ample space for different needs, with the snooker table, piano & boot/drying room being particular hits. Lovely old house with lots of character. Very good setting , nice gardens to walk in and good walks from the house. Well equipped , but showers not very powerful and internet virtually unobtainable but do realise this is an issue in such a rural setting . Claire the housekeeper was excellent really helpful and friendly and sorted out very promptly Read morean issue with one of the showers. Would definitely stay here again. Hide

Fassfern House is lovely. It is comfortable and welcoming. We love coming to stay here. The location is ideal to be able to do so many things and to be able to enjoy the beautiful Scottish scenery.

What a fabulous house for a large family gathering. We had a great week, the house is spacious, warm and well equipped. It is close to local amenities but also surrounded by beautiful walks in a peaceful setting. We will be back to stay again .

Our second visit to Fassfern. We just love this place and the local area. Even though it was wet, again! House is so well equipped and lovely and warm. Spacious and a great location with ample parking. The refurbished snooker table was much appreciated.

We have been to Fassfern twice now and thoroughly enjoyed both stays! The location is gorgeous and there is lots to do in the surrounding area. Most importantly, the house is beautiful and comfortable and its Jacobite connections are fascinating.

Location excellent particularly for anything to do with the steam train. Easy access to Fort William for supermarkets, restaurants and pubs. One hour drive to the white sands of Morar, and on a bit to Mallaig. Best beach in the world! Glenuig Inn worth a stop in either direction. Lots to do inside and outside the house. Log fire for cold and not soRead more cold nights. Games room for the teenagers and lots of paths to walk the dog. Look out for the chanterelle mushrooms on the other side of the stream. Hide

Very clean house and helpful housekeeper. Good location for walkers and tourers alike. Loved strolling around the garden and sitting out front in the afternoon. The piano was thoroughly enjoyed and the living room was a great place for everyone to gather in the evenings.
