Sleeping 10 people over six bedrooms and welcoming four waggy-tailed friends, this impressive Georgian manor house is the perfect spot for a fabulous family celebration or a group get-together. Located on a private estate on the Knapdale Peninsula, you'll adore the elegant traditional décor and beautiful waterside views, while your pups are sure to love exploring the enclosed garden/patio and the private sandy beach.

Step inside and you can't help but notice that this lovingly-renovated property retains all of its original warmth and charm. Beautifully decorated with a soothing colour pallet and classically furnished with antiques and artwork, there's ample space to socialise and relax in equal measure. Cook up a storm in the welcoming kitchen or on the BBQ in the garden and then host your group in the formal dining room. Enjoy after-dinner drinks in the games room or unwinding in the elegant drawing room as your pups snooze by the fireside. Alternatively, head to the sitting room and curl up in front of a movie or make your way up to the first and second floors, where you'll find eight stylish bedrooms to choose from. In the morning, start your day with a coffee in the idyllic garden before exploring the estate or heading to the beach with your furry friends.

Take your pups for lovely stroll around the ruins of Tarbert Castle (11 miles), which sits above the pretty village of Tarbert. The views from the castle are spectacular and you'll find a lovely dog-friendly bar/restaurant in the village. Alternatively, there are some nice forest walks at Torinturk (7 miles), where you'll be rewarded with great views towards West Loch Tarbert and the distant hills of the islands of Arran and Islay.

Carse House was the perfect backdrop for a special but very relaxed family gathering. The house is large but not overwhelming thanks to the cosy feel of each floor and we found it warm, welcoming and easy to settle in to. We enjoyed the generous sized rooms, comfortable beds with good quality duvets and linens, quick and plentiful hot water, well eRead morequipped kitchen, open fires and amazing views. No WiFi connectivity and low/no phone signal during our stay only added to the sense of winding down. Hide
