This period home on the remote Applecross Peninsula is brimming with character and, with room for up to eight, is wonderful for a gathering of family or friends. It’s in a secluded and peaceful spot, just a mile away from a pristine and unspoilt beach where your pet can run free while you lap up the serene views. Dogs will be in seventh heaven staying here, with extensive grounds to sniff out, and woodland and river walks from the doorstep.
You’ll be staying in an annex of the main house, decorated in an appealing homely style with quaint sash windows, window seats, quality antique furniture and elegant florals. Dogs will need to stay in the kitchen and utility areas, where you’ll have plenty of space to set up their beds and bowls. They’ll love relaxing nearby as you prepare feasts on the oil-fired Rayburn, to be enjoyed at the large wooden table in the centre of the room. When you’ve been out in the elements all day, sink into one of the sofas in the spacious dual-aspect lounge, enjoying the cosy warmth of the wood burner with a glass of something special. When sleep beckons, choose from four sumptuous bedrooms ranging from a king-size room to a cosy single, two offering en-suite shower rooms, the others served by the well-appointed bathroom. Outside, embrace your surroundings with quiet morning walks or star-lit evening tipples.
Your canine companion will be thrilled with the endless outdoor adventures nearby. For a leisurely introduction to the area, take the 1-mile stroll to the Applecross Inn for a drink, then saunter along to the adjacent beach for a doggie runaround. Set off on foot to explore 25 miles of magnificent, marked walks around the peninsula, perhaps wandering along the Applecross River (0.5 miles).
