This charming, traditional cottage on the fringes of the Peak District is the perfect romantic bolthole for two. With an abundance of beautiful country walks on its doorstep, it is a walkies paradise for four-legged friends. You’re sure to adore evenings in the private hot tub, while your pups roam free in the enclosed patio.
Step inside this gem of a cottage and you’ll find a cosy and contemporary open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner that’s bathed in natural light. After a great day hiking in the hills, snuggle up with your loved one on the lounge area’s sofa while your pups gently snore in front of the wood burner. Alternatively, spend your evening soaking in the hot tub with a nice glass of chilled wine in the private courtyard. At the end of a romantic day in the countryside, head upstairs for a good night’s sleep in the spacious bedroom where the plush decor adds a serious hint of glamour.
If you’re looking for a dog walk that’s almost all off-lead, check out Black Rocks in Cromford (1.5 miles). You’ll be rewarded with some very happy pups and some great views of the Derwent Valley. Further afield, Crich Tramway Village (6.5 miles) welcomes four-legged family members and has recently been recommended as a dog-friendly venue by the Dogs Trust. In the evening, the pretty market town of Wirksworth (1.5 miles) has a number of cosy dog-friendly pubs to enjoy a pint in—if you can drag yourself away from the cottage.
