Set in peaceful Yorkshire country seclusion near the beautiful area of Nidderdale, this finely appointed and tastefully restored stone cottage is the picture of rural idyll. It’s a base perfect for families of four with two canine companions coming along for a family holiday, setting out to explore the Washburn Valley – within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – as well as the nearby thriving spa town of Harrogate, and beyond.
The cottage is rich with homely and considerate touches throughout. Relax on sofas surrounding a cosy wood burner and laze in front of the TV/DVD player while the pups lie contentedly nearby. The doggy-dedicated snug under the stairs is a great use of the lounge to make sure your canine companions stay in comfort. The well-designed cottage kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook up home comforts, with a dishwasher to make easy work of after dinner clean-ups. The extendable table in the dining area makes for ample stylish dining for four. Two roomy and airy double bedrooms are upstairs, full of lovely little touches, along with an imaginatively decorated family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Over the quiet country lane outside, indulge in countryside al fresco dining courtesy of the large private garden with a patio and seating, keeping an eye on four-footed family by the pretty (but unfenced!) pond.
Make use of the miles of leisurely country walks abounding from your front door, which both the two and four-legged travellers will love. Visit Lindley Reservoir, a haven for wildlife lovers, full of bird species and where you can catch a glimpse of goldcrests and woodpeckers. Take a 6-mile drive to the spa town of Harrogate for a great day out. Find quaint village charm and a range of dog-welcoming pubs, as well as unique shops, restaurants and cafes in Ilkley (9 miles) and Pateley Bridge (13 miles). For your fill of architecture and culture, visit Bolton Abbey (14 miles), showcasing the ancient priory ruins and stunning walks among the Yorkshire Dales.
