Enjoy a stay at this superb cabin style property situated in a peaceful residential location in the port town of Bideford, with its busy river harbour, independent shops, and choice of eateries.
This cosy property, situated in the little white town of Bideford, is perfect for a couples’ retreat – with your loyal canine in tow, of course! Sleeping you both in a welcoming king-size bedroom and with plenty of room for the pup to snooze, it won’t be long before you’re up and about exploring the pretty village and beyond. Take a trip with the hound to the isolated island of Lundy, where you can see seals and puffins, or take advantage of the wonderful South West Coast Path and explore seaside towns like Westward Ho! (4.5 miles).
The property, which is next door to the owner’s, is spacious and has plenty of privacy. The galley-style kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm to eat at the breakfast bar, while bi-folding doors in the lounge make it a bright and airy space with superb views across the river and Torridge Bridge in the distance. The pup will love curling up by your feet as you sink into the sofa in front of the TV after a long day out walking, but if they’ve still got the energy they can roam around in the gravel garden while you sizzle up a BBQ for an al fresco meal under the newly installed canopy for those wetter evenings.
If you don’t fancy cooking, there are plenty of dog-friendly pubs in Bideford less than a mile from the property. But there are also lots of cafes and restaurants in nearby Appledore (4.5 miles) – why not walk along the South West Coast Path and get the ferry there? Further afield, Saunton Sands (16 miles) has a beautiful beach that you and the pup will love strolling along, while the edge of Exmoor National Park is only 20 miles away and boasts stunning views along footpaths that you and the canine can enjoy together.
