This beautifully renovated thatched cottage, set in the chocolate box village of Burton Bradstock, is the perfect rural retreat for large groups looking for a slice of peace and tranquillity.

Treat your adorable dogs to the adventure of a lifetime. Sleeping up eight people and two canine chums, this beautiful four-bedroom property near Bridport is perfectly placed for eating out, exploring near and far and discovering all the gems of Dorset’s glistening crown. From mornings chasing sticks at the year-round dog-friendly beaches of Hive (walking distance) and Eype (4 miles), to afternoons picnicking atop Eggardon Hill (6.5 miles), you are sure to enjoy many treasured moments together.

Beautifully mingling original features with contemporary flare, the property’s interiors will provide welcome sanctuary come rain or shine. The cosiest spot for burying away with a book while your hounds gnaw on tasty chews, there is a snug area complete with its own armchairs and woodburner-effect gas fire. Paw through another couple of chapters before rejoining the rest of the pack in the sitting room, a chic space kitted out with comfortable sofas and another woodburner-effect fire. Featuring ample space to both cook for and serve your whole family, the cottage has a spacious kitchen with a table and chairs, as well as a separate dining room. While sleeping dogs dream of the day’s tail-wagging adventures and the grown-ups crack open the fizz, youngsters will love whizzing off to the games room before heading upstairs to bed. Retaining authentic charm, some of the bedrooms are accessed via a couple of steps and have slightly reduced head height.

Spend leisurely afternoons in the enclosed south-facing garden; there’s ample seating on the patio and a spacious lawn (accessed via four steps) affording opportunity for games of fetch and tug in the sunshine. Only 1.5 miles from Bridport, you can easily hop in the car or walk to local amenities, including dog-friendly eateries. For a walk to remember, visit the world-famous Golden Cap (5.5 miles).

A beautifully presented house with everything you needs for a comfortable stay situated in the middle of wonderful village in a lovely part of the world. The kids (and adults!) loved the games room and the long refectory table was perfect for playing games of an evening. The welcome in the Three Horseshoes pub was very nice and the food superb. The cottage and location were totally amazing. There was enough space for all. The en suite shower room was off the rails, so couldn't be used. The light above mirror, cord was missing so unable to see shaving, makeup. Plugs behind chest of draws could not be seem made it difficult to use hairdryer etc.

Large charming cottage with very comfortable beds and nice pillows & linens. We had 6 adults and did not use the upstairs twin room, which has a ladder that some adults may find difficult. Nice selection of games and big squishy sofas make it ideal for families. We had a great stay.
