Built in 1827 this former farm labourer’s cottage has been lovingly updated to provide a fantastic holiday home set in a secluded and breathtaking location close to the beautiful coast of Dorset.

Sleeping ten and welcoming one dog, this characterful cottage is an idyllic retreat for a group of friends and family. It boasts lots of garden space for everyone to enjoy, including the waggy-tailed ones. They can stretch their four legs out on the large lawn, and go mutts playing games of football and fetch with you. Afterwards, you can always give paws a rinse under the outdoor shower. When you do want to head out for longer walks with your hound, the South West Coast Path is only 1 mile away.

 

Inside, the cottage is bright and homely with room for your group to spread out and relax, and more than enough floorspace for several of Fido’s best and comfiest beds. For cooler times there’s a wood burner, as well as underfloor heating, so paws will always be warm. Relax and socialise in the kitchen/diner and connected lounge. Lots of seating means that while half of your group prepares dinner, the others can be in the room with them to share stories. Your dog will be there to help too of course, in case you drop a tasty titbit that needs eating! Watch a film, play games, or read in the glass-ceilinged lounge, or settle in the snug for a quiet night in. When everyone’s ready for bed, let sleeping dogs lie and cosy down in one of the pretty bedrooms. Outside, light the BBQ or fire up the pizza oven. Younger guests can enjoy the tree swing, while your hound has a run on the lawn.

 

Follow the South West Coast Path to reach natural beauty spots such as Winspit Quarry (1 mile) and Dancing Ledge (2.5 miles), where your dog can have a sniff around while you admire the sweeping views. Further inland, don’t miss The Keats Quarry Dinosaur Footprints (1.5 miles).

A glorious spot - near to coastal path. Great garden/equipment for kids. Well-equipped spacious cottage (8 adults, and 2 kids in bunk beds). Some protection needed (glass-topped table, trinkets) for toddlers. Disappointed not to find a DVD player (we had brought down some old favourites). Dishwasher plate racks flimsy. Dorset M Serv. came in 24H toRead more mend boiler, and to deal with a burning smell from a light with a 300W bulb (should have been 80!). Not clear which bin to use for recycling. Hide

The house is lovely and in a beautiful location, with delightful grounds ideal for our family holiday. However it was let down by some minor maintenance issues which have been reported and will hopefully be addressed. It is certainly a house we would return to in the future and would have no hesitation at recommending it to friends.

Beautiful, very clean house- we really enjoyed our stay- thank you. The thing which did let it down though was the lack of communication from Dorset managed services who manage the property. I called about 10 times to enquire about a slightly earlier check in but they would either not pick up or say that they would call me back which they didnt. ThRead moreey were really unhelpful which is shame as its a great house. Hide

We loved our stay at Weston Farm cottage - truly beautiful house which had everything we needed and more! Cottage is in a lovely location and the outside area looked great. I think it would be a great summer cottage, however, on a cold and wet week in April the inside is lacking the comforts required. The main lounge has just 2 sofa's and an armchair ,which together can seat 6 (for game playing but not relaxing) and the lounge with the fire only has 2 Read morex 2 seater sofa's. we had to resort to some being seated on hard chairs which is not ideal. A lovely property in a beautiful area with stunning views. An ideal spot for walks, visits and beaches. The property is ideal for a large family gathering. It is well equipped and comfortable. The garden is secure and a great open space for children as well as for adults who just want to relax.

Very well equipped, this property was excellent for a family weekend together. We didn't have children in our party but all felt it would have been fantastic place to stay with children.
