Property code: DC182

Wonderful former vicarage with rustic look and feel, large rooms, a host of period features and stunning grounds with croquet lawn, pond and a fire pit seating area.

Bring the whole pack to this beautiful three-storey house, which welcomes eight people and two canine companions. There’s a utility room, as well as washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for dog towels and sandy clothes after a day at the beach – there’s also a lovely open fire for your four-legged friends to stretch out in front of. Located in the heart of West Lulworth village, the white pebble beach of Lulworth Cove is less than a mile from the doorstep.

Step through the oak front door into this traditional country house, where period features and colourful soft furnishings create an elegant yet homely space. Hang Lassie’s lead up in the cloakroom with your coats, and light the fire in the drawing room. This room is long and open plan, separated from the dining area only by a wide archway, making it ideal for an evening in. You can sit round the table for a delicious meal, saving a tasty titbit for your top dog, then settle onto the chairs and sofas for the night. Put a bed for your hound in here, so they can curl up close to you. The first floor also has its own lounge with a TV, so your group has space to spread out and relax. Outside, there’s a lawn for you and your pup to play on, as well as a seating area, fire pit, and covered pond (though curious canines may need supervision).

The waggy-tailed ones are spoilt for choice with the many different types of walks in the area. On the South West Coast Path from Lulworth Cove you can head west to Durdle Door (1.5 miles) or east for The Fossil Forest (1.5 miles). Over in East Lulworth, go for a wander round the parkland at Lulworth Castle (3 miles) where younger guests will enjoy the playground.

We had a lovely week at the Old Vicarage and the weather was generally good enough to enjoy the beautiful garden. The house is very unique and we felt as though it was a real experience to stay there. We particularly liked the kitchen / orangery area and spent most of our time there. The location is fantastic and the dogs loved their walks down to Read morethe cove. We would suggest that the mugs and some of the crockery is replaced. Hide

A really spacious, comfortable property in a wonderful, quiet location. Shop just down the road for everyday essentials. Lovely short walk down to Lulworth Cove . We split our time between the cove and Weymouth which has a great beach, even the dog area, lovely harbour with lots of cafes and restaurants.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Vicarage. There are plenty of places to relax inside the house and the views are stunning. It was great for my disabled grandmother too, as there's a WC and living area on first two floors, and the dog loved the large garden. Everyone wants to return next year.

the Old Vicarage was just what I wanted - lots of space to gather my grown up family. A short stroll to the coast for sea swims and a 5 minute walk for a great Sunday lunch at The Castle Inn makes this home so easy. We played croquet, enjoyed the open fire and enjoyed feeling as if we'd been invited to someone's quirky home for the weekend.
