Wonderful former vicarage with rustic look and feel, large rooms, a host of period features and stunning grounds with croquet lawn, pond and a fire pit seating area.
Bring the whole pack to this beautiful three-storey house, which welcomes eight people and two canine companions. There’s a utility room, as well as washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for dog towels and sandy clothes after a day at the beach – there’s also a lovely open fire for your four-legged friends to stretch out in front of. Located in the heart of West Lulworth village, the white pebble beach of Lulworth Cove is less than a mile from the doorstep.
Step through the oak front door into this traditional country house, where period features and colourful soft furnishings create an elegant yet homely space. Hang Lassie’s lead up in the cloakroom with your coats, and light the fire in the drawing room. This room is long and open plan, separated from the dining area only by a wide archway, making it ideal for an evening in. You can sit round the table for a delicious meal, saving a tasty titbit for your top dog, then settle onto the chairs and sofas for the night. Put a bed for your hound in here, so they can curl up close to you. The first floor also has its own lounge with a TV, so your group has space to spread out and relax. Outside, there’s a lawn for you and your pup to play on, as well as a seating area, fire pit, and covered pond (though curious canines may need supervision).
The waggy-tailed ones are spoilt for choice with the many different types of walks in the area. On the South West Coast Path from Lulworth Cove you can head west to Durdle Door (1.5 miles) or east for The Fossil Forest (1.5 miles). Over in East Lulworth, go for a wander round the parkland at Lulworth Castle (3 miles) where younger guests will enjoy the playground.
