Located in the picturesque Shipton Gorge village, this delightful cottage is the perfect home-from-home for families and groups of friends to enjoy an unforgettable holiday.

Set in a pretty Dorset village just two miles from the beach, this welcoming family home has a great garden with endless snuffling potential for the four-legged members and lovely views across the village too.

Shed the outdoor gear, dog stuff and bags in the porch before heading into the spacious main living/dining room which runs from the front to the back of the house. It’s a bright, airy space, yet has a cosy sitting area with comfortable sofas around a wood burner and large TV perfect for those chilly evenings. Enjoy family dinners at the farmhouse-style pine dining table or open the French doors and eat in the private courtyard. If the weather stays dry, there is a BBQ, and adjacent to the dining room the galley kitchen has everything you’ll need to rustle up a feast for the whole group, whether you’re a dedicated chef or prefer to sit back and let the microwave do the hard work. Children and dogs will love exploring the tiered garden above the courtyard, and the homely bedrooms are just the job after long days out exploring.

The house is a less than a 0.25 mile-stroll to the village pub which has a well-received food menu, and it’s two miles to the coast. Take the whole gang down to sandy Hive Beach for a beach day, or head to West Bay, 3 miles away, for some great restaurants and fantastic cliff-top walks. Keen walkers will enjoy the dramatic coast path routes locally, as well as some of the inland trails such as the 3 mile walk up Limekiln Hill in West Bexington, 5 miles away, where kids will love exploring the wartime bunker with views out over Chesil Beach.

A great cottage with everything u need for your holiday. Decoration could maybe be refreshed but its cosy and well equipped . The location is tucked away slightly but once youre familiar with the narrow roads it all seems to fall in place. Its perfect for exploring the bridport, west bay, Lyme Regis and even Weymouth part of Dorset which is what weRead more did. 3rd time staying here. Everything you need. Chip van in village on Thursday night. HIVE Ccafe does amazing seafood but pre book. Great coastal walks nearby and Abbotsbury tropical gardens worth a visit

A really lovely cottage and area. We would happily stay again. We do have very young children (2 under 2) and realise that you can't walk out of the village with a pram as there are no pavements, but this is nothing to do with the cottage but part of the character of the area. Excellent location for exploring the Jurassic coast. It did feel like a Read morehome from home. Hide

We were very pleased with our stay at East Court cottage in Shipton Gorge. We found the cottage to be clean, comfortable and warm. The kitchen had every utensil which one might require! We did eventually get the log burner going which created a pleasant atmosphere. Due to the poor weather we unfortunately weren't able to use the lovely garden.

Good size property in a lovely location. Well equipped. Lovely pub in the village, made us feel very welcome. If you are staying in the Autumn/Winter months take a torch and your wellies!

A lovely house in a great location a short distance from Hive beach. The New Inn is within walking distance and has good food and a welcoming landlady. Plenty of other pubs/restaurants within a few miles. Comfortable beds. Would recommend.

The house was really well equipped, clean and comfortable. There is a decent size fridge in the kitchen and a chest freezer in the garage, so lots of room for food if you're cooking for family. There is a children's park 2 mins walk away and a friendly pub 2 mins walk away. The house is a short drive from Hive beach, which we visited lots! We had a lovely family stay with our dog. Lovely to have the enclosed courtyard area to let her out whenever she wanted. The cottage was very well equipped. Freezer is in the garage on the driveway. Sweet little cottage, plenty warm enough plus there was a filled log-burner ready to burn when we arrived.

Our second stay at East Court over New Year, the cottage is very spacious and well equipped. Easy parking to the front and side and short walk to both a play area and the local pub. Shipton Gorge has easy access by car to Bridport for the shops as well as beaches at West Bay and Burton Bradstock. We haven't used the garden which is raised and accesRead moresible by steps as only stayed in winter but looks nice and plenty of outside space with the patio and gated driveway. Hide

Lovely cottage, very cosy with log burner alight. Nice pub 3 mins walk op the steep hill.Welcome pack including wine ,flowers and dog treats very much appreciated. Would highly recommend. Lady in the pub suggested taking our dog, Bentley, to Burton Bradstock . The cottage was in a lovely location...we took our own plastic meshing to add to the dog safety on the gate as our two young dogs would have escaped (but we came prepared) and removed as we left.
