Hidden down an unmade track in the quintessential Dorset village of East Charldon, this picturesque country cottage is perfectly located for peace and tranquillity. With an array of stunning beaches within just 5 miles from your front door -- including the famous natural arch at Durdle Door (4 miles) -- water-loving families and their coastal canine companions will have a ball here. The property sleeps six across three light-filled bedrooms, ensuring there is plenty of space for everyone to unwind after a busy day exploring.

The property retains many original features to give a real country charm throughout, from the exposed beams to the traditional bread oven in an inglenook. Cosy up in the welcoming lounge beside the wood burner on cold nights, warming you through after a day of sea splashing. There’s even underfloor heating in the kitchen/diner, which your four-pawed friends are sure to appreciate! Upstairs you’ll find the property’s inviting bedrooms: two doubles with beamed ceilings and a bunk bedroom with restricted headroom on the top bunk. Please note that there are low ceilings and doorways throughout the first floor. Head outside and relax in the large garden, dining alfresco while Fido and Rover play on the extensive lawn. Meanwhile, kids and big kids alike will love the thatched games room, while little ones will enjoy discovering the Wendy house.

Spend time exploring Dorset’s stunning Jurassic Coast, which lies just 3 miles from the property. As well as Durdle Door, the glorious beaches of Ringstead Bay (7 miles) and Lulworth Cove (5 miles) are well-worth a visit with your hound. Heading inland, discover a huge variety of attractions studded in the countryside. Visit the castles at Lulworth (7 miles) and Corfe (14 miles) or visit Thomas Hardy’s birthplace in nearby Higher Bockhampton (11 miles).

This is by far the prettiest, most comfortable and well equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in. There was literally nothing that we needed that was not readily available. The owners have thought of everything, from a lively welcome gift to the most comprehensive and helpful guides you could wish for. The bed and pillows were super comfy and tRead morehe garden was utterly perfect! Not overlooked and fully enclosed and safe for our doggies. Plenty of garden furniture and comfortable loungers. The location is perfect, secluded but centrally located and within walking distance of the coast (about 50 mins) or less than 10 mins drive to Durdle Door. The weather was perfect when we stayed so we had lots of time in the beautiful garden and a few swims in the sea. The local pub is also excellent, great food, super dog friendly and with a good gluten free selection. They gave us a very warm welcome with every visit as did the lovely locals! We would not hesitate to return to this wonderful home. Thank you to the thoughtful owners! Hide

Picture postcard cottage in an excellent location, total relaxation, the ability to be away from it all if you want, but facilities there if you don't. A very comfortable stay was had by all.

lovely cottage and the best-equipped kitchen ever! It was a pleasure to be in both the garden and the cottage itself. Beds and sofa very comfortable. Lots of heating and hot water. Easy access to the cottage via the key safe, and private parking. The location is excellent with so many places within reach. Nearest large supermarkets are probably Weymouth, nice 20 minute drive, just to bear in mind if stocking up on the way in. The views around are wonderful, countryside and sea. The owners have left lots of very thoughtful and useful information and have done everything to make guests feel at home and find things straightforward. We are returning in the autumn! Hide
