Looking out across fields towards the spectacular Three Cliffs Bay, this converted barn offers a serene romantic retreat for couples and their canine companion. Let your faithful hound lead the way down country lanes to the glorious golden sands of Three Cliffs Beach. You’ll soon see why it’s one of the most photographed stretches of coastline in Wales.
Refurbished in 2019, this open-plan property – next to the owner’s farmhouse – has some quirky design features, with character beams, ornate tables and colourful throws all adding to its unique charm. On chilly evenings, snuggle up next to your loved ones on the large comfy sofa as you warm yourselves by the wood burner in the lounge area. If you’re looking for a quiet moment to yourself, climb the ladder up to the mezzanine level where you can relax with a good book – hopefully not a shaggy dog story! The large enclosed garden leads to a five-acre field with Three Cliffs in the distance where you and your four-legged friend can burn off some energy with games of fetch.
The Gower Peninsula is waiting to be explored. As well as offering an abundance of superb walks and beaches, it’s also an excellent area for watching wildlife, from seabirds to wild ponies. The Gower Heritage Centre (1.5 miles) is great fun for dogs, with lots of history to sniff out as it’s based around a 12th-century water-powered cornmill. Elsewhere, the National Botanic Garden of Wales (25 miles) has Doggy Days every Monday and Friday when you can walk your pet round the garden, getting a good whiff of the plants and flowers as you go.
