This quirky two-bedroom cottage is a great base for small families or couples visiting the Cornish village of Boscastle. You’ll be thrilled to see a stream running right beside the house and a pub just a few minutes down the road. Once everyone’s explored the upside-down layout, it’s an easy stroll down the hill to the picturesque harbour and coast path.

Despite its traditional exterior, inside the house has a bright, modern feel with plenty of coastal touches from driftwood mirrors to a decorative bunch of mackerel in the kitchen. Set the kids up with breakfast downstairs in the kitchen, and open up the stable door to hear the river trickling past. Or take your coffee outside to the secluded courtyard garden while the pooch happily mooches about. After a long day exploring, you’ll all be keen to retreat upstairs to the living/dining room where there’s room enough for everyone to spread out. We’re sure Fido will claim that top spot right in front of the wood burner.

Young families will find ample entertainment in the village itself, less than half a mile away, with a variety of ice cream venues, cafes and excellent crabbing off the harbour wall. The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic is an intriguing place for older kids and just behind the cottage is the site of the village’s namesake Bottreaux Castle, which is a good spot for a morning dog walk. Walkers and energetic dogs will be in their element with miles of coastal walks on the South West Coast Path just half a mile from the house. And don’t miss a trip to one of the many beautiful sandy beaches like Bossiney Haven, 3 miles away, or the more family-friendly Trebarwith Strand, 5 miles – both of which allow dogs all year.

An utterly charming cottage set in the heart of Boscastle, and without doubt one of the best places Ive had the pleasure of staying. The thoughtful Cornish-inspired interiors are beautifully curated, while the slightly quirky layout makes excellent use of the space. The property is incredibly well maintained and exceptionally clean. The proRead moreperty has been finished to an impeccable standard, with a clear emphasis on quality and craftsmanship throughout. The kitchen is superbly appointed, offering everything one could need, with a level of detail that truly sets this cottage apart. Warm, inviting, and effortlessly cosy, the living space is elevated further by the addition of a log burnerperfect for unwinding after a day exploring the coast. The only minor consideration is parking. There is no allocated space within the car park, with some disruption from the ongoing construction works at the community centre, availability can occasionally be limited. However, there is much to do within walking distance and the nearby bus stop (just a short walk away) provides a convenient alternative for exploring the surrounding area. Most beautiful cottage, felt like home. Only disadvantage was its up a really steep hill from the Harbour and Shops. Although you can easily drive down and park at the bottom. Would definitely recommend

The best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in and very comfortable too. We are sorry that the weather did not allow us to use the courtyard as, whilst small, it looked attractive and private. A very comfortable and well equipped cottage. The large upstairs longue was a particular feature. Best use of space in the bathroom and in the well equipped kitchen. The short walk into the village a d back up the hill is very manageable.

The enclosed back garden was great for our dogs and parking available at the front of the cottage was really helpful. I would highly recommend
