Inside, the spectacular main living space is bright, airy and tastefully finished in soft muted tones, accentuating the striking exposed ceiling trusses and beams above. Rustle up romantic meals for two in the modern kitchen area, which contains everything you could need and more, before dining together at the table nearby. After a long and tiring day on foot, fire up the wood burner and hunker down in the cosy lounge area and enjoy an evening of TV while your pooch snoozes happily at your feet. From here, bi-folding doors open onto a delightful private terrace with a BBQ and spectacular views across the North York Moors.

Set on the very edge of the North York Moors, this rural retreat is the perfect base from which to explore this spectacular expanse of unspoilt countryside. Stroll across rolling hills with the pooch, stopping for a bite to eat and a browse of the independent shops in nearby Kirkbymoorside (1.5 miles), Pickering (9 miles) or Helmsley (7.5 miles). From Pickering, catch the iconic North York Moors Railway to the seaside town of Whitby (29.5 miles), taking in the breathtaking moorland scenery en route. Other nearby attractions include the historic Castle Howard (13.5 miles) and Rievaulx Abbey (10.5 miles).

Lovely cottage and location, ideal for peace and quiet. Great walks from the Farm with fantastic local shops selling lovely product, and pubs in both directions. Made to feel welcome by the farm owners straight away and dairy, home made and local product in the welcome pack.

Perfect spot for peace and quiet ,excellent view from the large window and the veranda must be lovely in the summer. Very friendly and helpful owner, welcomed with fresh bread ,Milk ,Butter and Bubbly . Heating was perfect with the wood burner to top up if required. Smashing extra large bed ,all in all very comfortable accomodation.

Super barn conversion in a superb peaceful location. Views are amazing and there are many walks close by. Location is central to many attractions in the area. The Escape was exceedingly clean with everything you could possibly need for a week away. The owners have definitely gone the extra mile, all is to the highest standard. We very much enjoyed our short stay and appreciated the welcome products. Everything was as it should be and we loved the rural location and even the challenges of the approach drive! The local wildlife was captivating, especially the swallows at dusk and the surprising number of hares playing nearby.

We were happy with everything, the homemade jam marmalade and brownies were delicious. The location is amazing, we love nature. Jane and Phil were very welcoming, and we were lucky with the weather we had a lovely time.

Jane and Phil are wonderfully accommodating hosts and the communication was excellent. The location is just perfect, in a scenic setting but close to local amenities. The welcome pack is a really thoughtful gesture as were the freshly picked daffodils! We had a wonderful holiday, from arriving to lots of delicious goodies. So many walks available from the door and such a huge comfortable bed to fall into every night afterwards. Everything was of a high standard and we are hoping to return soon.

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage had everything you would need, was very comfortable and in a perfect location for walks with the dogs. Jane and Philip were lovely and we would definitely recommend booking a breakfast with Jane it was delicious, will definitely book to stay again in the future.

The property was immaculate, the equipment was of a very high standard and the view was to die for. Jane, our host was friendly and informative and her chocolate cake was gorgeous. Please if you stay here have a meal, the menu was superb, the food delicious and the service..what can I say.

We had a superb holiday in excellent surroundings. There was a terrific view from The Escape, and plenty of great walks from it. Nothing was too much trouble for Jane. As we were there for a fortnight she changed the laundry after our first week, giving us further supplies of Cava, brownies and flowers. Despite it being remote, we didn't feel cut oRead moreff, with people in the other two cottages and family farm. Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location,yet ideal for visits to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay ,Staithes and York. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The owner ,Jane, provided us with essentials and extra goodies on arrival which was much appreciated. Definitely recommend.

This cottage is in the most beautiful location, perfect for walkers. Approx 1.5 mile to walk to nearest village, beautiful scenary, so cosy and quiet. If you are wanting to get away from it all this place ticks all the boxes, the bed is very comfortable and the oven and grill works great for cosy nights in cooking. Loved our time at the Escape. The cottage was really well equipped, warm and very clean. The Welcome Pack was an added bonus. The owner Jane was so accommodating when we had to switch dates at the last minute due to snow. Would love to return in the Spring/Summer.
