Situated in the quiet village of Hutton Magna in Teesdale, this charming cottage is the perfect property for families and their canine companions. Conveniently nestled between the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the south and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the north, there are endless opportunities for ‘walkies’ in the surrounding countryside. After a day out walking or exploring the many independent shops, pubs and tearooms in the local market towns, you’ll be pleased to snuggle up in front of the wood burner with some of your favourite treats.
This picture-postcard cottage’s traditional exterior creates a wonderful contrast with the sleek décor inside, where the pale grey palette creates a light and airy contemporary home. The open-plan lounge/diner with its wood burner is great for spending quality time together, whilst the modern kitchen is small, but well-equipped. There is also a charming twin bedroom. Upstairs, you’ll find a delightful king-size bedroom with sloped ceilings and dual aspect views, and a large family bathroom with a free-standing bath. Outside, there is a lawned garden to the front and an enclosed courtyard garden to the rear with a gate out to the adjoining fields. Please note, there’s a big step up to the front door.
Named after its castle, market town Barnard Castle (7 miles) is steeped in history, surrounded by stunning scenery and offers a range of shops and eateries. Other local towns and villages also have lots to offer and are good places to walk from. ‘Gateway to the Dales’, gorgeous Richmond (10 miles) has lots of historic buildings and is not far from the natural beauty of the Dales. Reeth (15.5 miles) is also a good place to walk from as it’s situated at the base of a natural amphitheatre with beautiful panoramas. The Pennine Way is also within 20 miles.
