Let your energetic doggo lead the way to adventure in the vast Yorkshire Dales National Park, staying in the archetypal Yorkshire market town of Settle with The Dales on your doorstep. Well designed and well placed, this dog-friendly holiday destination is right at the centre of town with shops, pubs and eateries nearby. It’s laid out with space for four humans and one four-pawed pal, perfectly suited to two holidaying couples seeking memorable days filled with adventure.
Set tails wagging as you step inside this expertly finished barn conversion. The high-ceilinged, light-filled kitchen greets you, complete with plenty of quality appliances for cooking up a storm (and saving a scrap or two for Rover). Get cosy in the living area upstairs, accessed via a bespoke oak staircase. The lounge features comfy seating and a wood burner for keeping toes and paws warm when it’s cold outside. You’ll also notice underfloor heating throughout, a warming treat for pets and people alike. When the sun shines, sit in the cobbled patio area with a drink. Back indoors, two king-size bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, are positioned on the ground and first floors. Parking is in a public car park 50 metres away, subject to availability.
Enjoy the slow pace of life that sleepy Settle offers, enjoying walks up to Lancliffe (1 mile) and up the River Ribble to really admire the scenery. Stainforth (2 miles) features pretty waterfalls, and the mountain peak of Pen-y-Ghent (8 miles) is one for energy-packed pets to tackle. For pets who prefer to take things a little slower, Settle is well-connected to a selection of local towns and villages via train. Board the Carlisle–Leeds line and visit the market town of Skipton (15 miles) or the World Heritage Site village of Saltaire (29 miles).
