This lovely stone cottage enjoys a peaceful location in the quiet village of Starbotton, within the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Sleeping up to six guests across four bedrooms, families and their canine members can enjoy the wonderful views and scenic walks surrounding the cottage. Stroll the half mile to the dog-friendly village pub for an early evening drink.

Your 17th-century rural retreat is full of character with exposed stone walls and oak beams throughout. Rustle up delicious dinners in the traditional cottage kitchen where you will find everything you need for a home from home stay. Share leisurely suppers in the welcoming dining room where you can dine at the grand table while your hound snoozes in front of the wood burner. After a day of outdoor adventures, unwind in the relaxing living room with the sound of logs crackling in the open fire or retreat to the snug with the latest bestseller. For competitive family evenings, let off steam in the games room with your pup as your cheerleader. Upstairs are the four comfortable bedrooms - two doubles and two singles - and the spacious family bathroom. A shower room can be found on the ground floor. Outside, tails will be wagging at the large garden where your hound can stretch out in the sunshine as you enjoy an al fresco lunch on the patio. There is off-road parking for up to four vehicles.

There are lovely walks straight from the doorstep with the Dales Way National Trail running through the village. Stroll to the bustling village of Kettlewell (2 miles) where you will find traditional inns and friendly tea-rooms where dogs are welcome. The Yorkshire Three Peaks are within 30 miles of the cottage, or lace up your walking boots to discover the hidden gem of Grimwith Reservoir (14.5 miles) or explore the stunning grounds of historic Bolton Abbey (17 miles).

  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 17:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Lovely cosy cottage with everything we needed, in a great location. Lots of walks directly from the cottage. It was a cold, crisp, sunny week, with thick frost almost every morning and snow only on the last morning. Loved watching the sun coming into the valley and gradually melting the frost before we went out for amazing walks. Warm welcomes and Read moregreat lunches at the Racehorses in Kettlewell, the Buck in Buckden and the George in Hubberholme. Helpful owners, would return for another holiday. Hide

Fantastic cottage, really well equipped, cosy and with a great garden. The views from the front are superb. So many walks direct from the property and the local pub is dog friendly and does great food.

This property is in an idyllic spot, well equipped for 6 adults to stay and very clean. Spectacular views and enclosed garden front and back for dogs to play. The owners have paid such attention to detail to have everything there for your stay. Everything works and even a log burner for the winter. Lovely welcome hamper too.

A charming beautiful cottage set in a stunning location with a lovely garden. It was well equipped and warm. The lighting in the living room was great for reading. The rooms were very comfortable. All the bedrooms have great views. We did many walks from the doorstep which were idyllic.

A lovely cottage which is well equipped, comfortable and in a fantastic location with excellent views from the large garden. Pub couple of minutes walk away, walking from the door and Kilnsey Fisheries for an afternoon fishing. The cottage is well organised but for any problems the friendly owners are a text away. We had a great stay here.

This is a lovely cottage at the heart of the village. The kitchen in equipped with everything you need but saying that we only used for breakfast as we ate out all nights. Ideal for walking as many walks right out of the garden. The garden is great and our spaniel enjoyed relaxing there after his long walks. Local pubs -Fox & Hounds was made to feeRead morel welcome and had fantastic food, Queens Arms (Litton) another great foodie pub. Local pizza was lovely too. We will be booking to go back. Hide

Wonderful cottage, fully equipped, comfortable and plenty of space for a large family. Our three teenage boys loved the games room. The views and location really are amazing. We all enjoyed sitting in the large garden, it was so peaceful. Stone walls and gates surround the property making it secure for children or dogs. Lots of walks to do on the dRead moreoorstep and friendly local pubs. We had a fabulous holiday. Would highly recommend Hide

The cottage was in an beautiful area, with a safe garden for our dog. It was very well equipped and there wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't there. We even used the games room on a couple of the evenings. We were very lucky with the weather, but I imagine that the games room would be ideal, if the weather was bad.
