Spend glorious days out and about in picturesque Cumbria with two delighted dogs at your heel. Up to two of you can savour this exquisite stone retreat, giving you the chance to spend precious time with your perfect pets in comfort. Explore your rural surroundings or go walking along Hadrian’s Wall and see the famous Vindolanda Fort, 15 miles from your cottage. Head out into the Northumberland National Park or make forays into the Lake District from your holiday home.

Your inviting, single-storey cottage is entered via a handy ramp leading into a splendid, open-plan kitchen/diner/lounge. This character-filled, barn-style space, with its exposed stonework and beams, has a vaulted ceiling, enhancing the sense of space for you and your contented canines. Switch on the wood burner-effect electric fire and let the happy hounds flop after all the day’s exertions. Watch TV in here, cook tasty meals and dine at the table, with your pets close by. There’s a handy washing machine in the cottage and a freezer for those doggy delights out in a shared building. Stroll through to your sumptuous bedroom, with its en-suite wet room, when you are ready for bed. Enjoy warm days out in your shared courtyard and garden, just keep an eye on your furry friends when close to the unfenced stream.

Drive approximately 16 miles to the pretty village of Slaggyford in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Embark upon a circular walk, taking in part of the Pennine Way and some magnificent views. Head 30 miles from your cottage to reach the top edge of the Lake District. Very quiet & peaceful surroundings. The cottage was quirky, fabulous to find out what it used to be before being this beautiful, fully equipped cottage. Everything we needed was there. Electric black out blinds! Brilliant invention, they were used every night! Very comfy large bed, adjustable. As this estate is a working farm, it was still very quiRead moreet plus there was a few chickens wandering around, one came to tap on the door with its beak which we found quite comical. Hide

Beautiful cottage as always. Lovely owner Kay. We only stayed 1 night instead of 3 because of medical emergency but Kay said we could come back, that the cottage was free until the weekend. How generous. We will return in the future.

What a wonderful location, exactly what we wanted. Beautiful countryside away from it all. We needed a quiet place for our rescue beagle & we couldn't have asked for more. Kay is a lovely host, thank you

Kitchen needed a deep clean - we had to wash all dishes and cutlery before we could use them and the grill pan in the oven was full of grease

Fantastic location, lovely host. A great cottage as a base for walking sections of Hadrian's Wall. Dog friendly, some amazing walks within a short drive - but also some lovely walks straight from the door.
