Set within the small Hertfordshire hamlet of Kinnersley, with outstanding views towards the Black Mountains, is this charming detached cottage. It’s the perfect base for four people and two dogs who wish to explore the beautiful outdoor spaces and walks in the area; many dog-friendly walks start from your own front door.
This detached cottage has been beautifully finished with an eclectic style and a rich colour palette to create a unique home-away-from-home. Enter via the storm porch and entrance hall, with its exposed natural wood and stone floors. The lounge is a beautifully styled space, complemented by the owner’s cleverly chosen antique pieces. Dogs and owners alike will appreciate a restful evening in front of the wood burner. The bespoke kitchen provides all you need to rustle up a family meal for all your guests. After a hectic day exploring the area, climb the stairs to the first floor where you’ll find two king-size bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom and WC. There is a Shepherd’s Hut on site which can be booked at an additional cost. The hut is perfect for an additional one or two guests. Please contact us for further information.
There is plenty to do in the area if you’re an active soul. Many National Trust properties, including the historic riverside Weir Garden, can be found within 10 miles of the property. Local produce can be purchased here and it’s a great spot for a picnic, too. For foodies, timing your stay to coincide with one of Ludlow’s food festivals (25 miles) allows you to sample quality fayre. Culture buffs will appreciate the Hay-on-Wye literary festival where UK’s authors, current and aspiring, descend upon the pretty town to celebrate the art of writing. Located just 10 miles away, the area is well worth a visit even if the festival is not in town, with its wealth of independent shops and cafes.
