This charming cottage is set at the heart of the stunning coastal village of Stiffkey, which is famous for its tidal muddy creeks and abundance of wildlife. Forming part of the Blakeney National Nature Reserve, the saltmarsh is ideal for long walks with your four-legged friend. Sleeping six guests across two snug bedrooms, it’s perfect for families and groups of friends along with two canine companions.
Follow the private driveway across a dainty bridge to access the property, which is packed with character, featuring oak and tile floors, beamed ceilings and exposed brickwork. The lounge exudes comfort, made scrumptiously warm by a crackling wood burner in the open fireplace. The shaker-style kitchen/diner is a treat for whipping up delicious meals, complete with a handy utility room, which can be found down a small set of steps. The house was once made up of two cottages, so there are two separate steep and narrow staircases leading to different bedrooms upstairs. Both are cottage-style and rather steep, so beware of stumbling paws! One of the bedrooms has an adjoining bunk room, an excellent choice for younger guests. Outside, there’s parking for two cars, and a stable door leads to a beautiful walled garden, providing a scenic spot for al fresco drinks. The coast road is easily accessed, and the nearest shop is a short 0.5-mile stroll.
There’s plenty to explore from your doorstep thanks to the surrounding saltmarshes. A variety of birdlife can be spotted across the nature reserve, which welcomes well-behaved furry visitors on leads. Cley-next-the-Sea is just 5 miles away, offering scenic walks and a taste of local history, and Wells-next-the-Sea is brimming with quintessential seaside charm 4 miles away.
