This beautiful property, situated just metres from the River Wye and boasting wonderful views across to Symonds Yat Rock (5.5 miles), is ideal for couples or families – including the pup, of course! Sleeping eight across four cosy bedrooms and with plenty of space for the hound to relax, you could all soon be up and climbing the 120 metres to the top of the rock, or following the river along the Wye Valley footpath. And when it’s time to go home, wash off muddy boots in the utility room and head to your favourite spot to curl up with a good book.
The property, which offers stunning views of treetops down to the river, is spacious and comfortable. The huge contemporary-styled kitchen is a chef’s dream and meals can be enjoyed at the dining table letting the sunshine in through French doors; at night, sink into the sofas in the snug or the lounge in front of the wood burner with the pup by your feet. Upstairs, the bedrooms lend a boutique feel to your stay; each has its own style of soft furnishings to create a peaceful atmosphere. In the morning, head down to the garden to soak up some early rays. Sizzle up a BBQ out here in the evening, or visit the local dog-friendly pub less than 200 metres away.
Take a wander around the many attractions available in the local area. Goodrich Castle (4 miles) welcomes dogs and is ideal for history buffs of any age, while younger minds might enjoy sniffing out clues on the Symonds Yat Treasure Hunt Trail that starts outside a local pub just 4.5 miles away. Discover the fantastic sculptures along the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail (11 miles), where you can stop for a picnic and the children can enjoy the playground.
