As your eager hound leads you through the front door, stop and savour the charm of this magical property, which is just the place for a couple’s escape or a coastal getaway for four. Take your mutt for invigorating walkies on the coastal path or along golden beaches, then return for an al fresco supper in the enclosed garden as your pup sniffs and plays.
Painted beams in the pretty lounge/diner hint at the history of the 18th century cottage. They’re complemented by comfortable seating, a coal-effect gas fire and a Smart TV for cosying up with your favourite show on a restful night in. The sweet, country-style decor continues in the kitchen, which boasts a breakfast table for two and all the resources you’ll need for cooking tasty meals during your stay. The quarry-tiled floor makes this the perfect spot for feeding your canine companion. Also on this level is a spacious family shower room. Settle your furry friend to sleep and take the staircase in the lounge/diner to the first floor, where you’ll find both delightful bedrooms, which have areas of sloping ceiling. When you and your four-pawed bestie want some fresh air, head out into the lovely garden, a fabulous place for a morning coffee or an evening BBQ.
Mithian is a picturesque village with a fabulous, dog-friendly pub that dates back to the 16th century. Just 2 miles away, the larger village of St Agnes offers a range of excellent places to eat as well as some interesting shops. The coast here is spectacular and you’ll want to get your boots on and stroll the coastal path – from St Agnes Head it’s just over 1 mile to Chapel Porth Beach, a beautiful little bay where the National Trust cafe serves its legendary ‘hedgehog’ ice cream.
