Surround yourself in historic grandeur at this magnificent property in the village of Tollard Royal. Set in 7,000 acres of beautiful grounds, it sleeps 17 people over nine bedrooms and welcomes two four-legged friends. Perfect for family or group get-togethers, you can enjoy beautiful walkies right from the front door and then cosy-up with your pups in front of the wood burner in the property’s impressive drawing room.
Step through the ancient oak door and you’ll find yourself in a medieval hall. The fascination continues in the oak-panelled dining room in the Tudor section of the house. You’ll also find a well-equipped kitchen where you can cook up a feast for your party before chilling out in the TV room. Venture up the wide oak staircase and you’ll discover a beautiful drawing room overlooking the garden. There are also four bedrooms on this floor to retire to. A narrow staircase leads up to the second floor and two more bedrooms. If you yearn for a little privacy, head to the adjoining annexe, which has its own large lounge area, kitchen and two large en-suite bedrooms. There’s also an additional bedroom outside the main property in the Japanese Pavilion – which is the perfect place for your party’s most romantic couple! The extensive grounds include an exotic Japanese-style garden, a sauna in the summer pavilion and plenty of places to dine alfresco. You can even arrange to have your own hot tub in place during your stay.
Take your pups for a walk in the beautiful walled gardens at Shaftesbury Abbey (7.5 miles), which was founded by King Alfred in AD 888. Or head to the Iron Age fort at Old Sarum (20 miles), where your hounds are allowed to run off lead on the outer bailey.
