Head into Harrogate, 7 miles away, to explore its picture-postcard streets, lined with trees and historic buildings. The town has a great selection of independent eateries, many of which welcome waggy-tailed diners, as well as a plethora of immaculate public parks to sniff and explore. Fountains Abbey (17 miles) makes a great doggy day out. The site of the largest monastic ruins in the country welcomes four-pawed visitors, and you’ll find several circular walks that incorporate the abbey, as well as the beautiful Studley Royal Water Garden.
