Looking to book a trip to Norfolk and want to talk your beloved pet along too? This traditional cottage in Snettisham is right on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so is perfect for taking a relaxing break in a gorgeous setting. The beautiful red brick property is just the right size if you’re a family or small group of friends, and have one dog.
The house has a roomy lounge where you can all relax together while Fido takes forty winks by the wood burner. The kitchen has everything you need to create delicious meals and a large table where you can sit down and enjoy them with a bottle of wine to share. A stable door leads from the kitchen into a large garden where your pup will love running around and gnawing away at his bone. The outside area also has comfortable chairs, a coffee table and a picnic – when it’s nice out, take morning tea and pastries outside and make the most of the sunshine. The garden is enclosed so your canine companion will be safe.
Snettisham is a charming village where you can pop in for a drink in a 14th-century inn or head to the beach a mile or so away, which is a hive of activity for nature lovers with its reedbeds and marshland. At the dog-friendly Snettisham Nature Reserve (3.5 miles), admire saline lagoons and mudflats as Rover runs around happily with his tongue lolling out of his mouth. You could take him for a beach walk at Snettisham (4 miles); perhaps he’ll go for a refreshing dip (and perhaps you will too!). The park around Holkham Estate (17 miles) offers a 10-mile circuit that’s also prime dog-walking territory, as long as he is kept on a lead.
