Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a small family escape, this cosy cottage is perfectly positioned for an idyllic Cornish escape. Of course, it’s no holiday without the whole pack, so bring your furry friends along for walkies across one of the country’s most picturesque landscapes. Enjoy the many footpaths from the doorstep, including the famous South West Coast Path which stretches for a staggering 630 miles.

Designed with a reverse-style layout, this cottage makes the most of its beautiful River Fowey views. From the first-floor open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, relax and watch the boats go by each morning as you sip your coffee. Or why not step out onto the large balcony and enjoy an al fresco breakfast? From the lounge, steps lead up to a mezzanine level with a daybed -- a welcome spot for curling up with a good book on a rainy afternoon. You’ll find the two bedrooms on the ground floor, both with stable doors to a delightful decked patio area. There’s even a frape available for a small boat.

Polruan’s tidal sandy beach lies just 1.5 miles from the property, but for beach days with your pups head to nearby Ready Money Cove (5 miles) or Lantic Bay (1.5 miles); here they’ll go mutts for the gentle waves and digging in the soft sand. The hidden cove at Lansallos is also a must-see. Hop on the ferry to Fowey (4 miles) and explore the town’s popular circular walk, discovering the pretty villages en-route and stopping for refreshments at the country pubs. Of course, no visit to Cornwall is complete without a trip to the Eden Project (16 miles), where you can explore the grounds with your hounds, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (24.5 miles).

Cottage very comfortable and views to die for, however you have to be fit and able to get to the cottage. Steps very steep and not easy in places without a handrail, especially with luggage, shopping and small children.

The upstairs had great river views and lots of natural light. The sofas were comfy, the TV fine and the kitchen convenient and well equipped. The outside balcony was disappointing as it's North facing and didn't catch the sun at all in October. Downstairs, the bedrooms were gloomy and shower rooms tiny. On arrival, the downstairs felt quite damp anRead mored chilly and the heating wasn't working- virtually no instructions in the info folder and we wasted lots of time Sunday morning trying to get help. Very nice location. Beautiful view of the harbour and Fowey from the dining and living room. The climb up to West Street may be a problem if you have mobility issues. Once there it is close to the village amenities.

The Cottage provided a perfect base set within the heart of Polruan. The views over the Harbour from inside the cottage and from the Balcony were simply wonderful.

Polruan is great, this is our third visit in less than a year so we have a fairly good idea of what is and isn't a great location, this place has the location and the view. This is what you are paying for here. The walk from the car park and the extra steps to get down to this place are in no way suitable for anyone with mobility issues (cannot strRead moreess that enough). The reward however is a stunning view. Overall: Comfortable beds, great showers, stunning views, average kitchen and terrible TV. Hide

A lovely comfortable cottage with stunning views of the river. If you are lucky with the weather then there is nothing better than sitting on the balcony and watching the busy river. Love the little ferry to Fowey, highly recommend eating at The King of Prussia.
