Grant you and your dogs a new leash of life from this winsome family home in Polruan, South Cornwall. Boasting space for up to four people and two dogs, the setup of this cottage ensures you never have to spend another holiday away from your canine chums. Strip back your daily routine and spend hours tracing the South West Coast Path, eating ice cream on the quay and meeting new friends (both two-legged and four) in the local dog-friendly pub. After a day or two here, it won’t be long before you are planning your return.
A Grade-II listed building, this Captain’s house is a year-round haven. Feel your senses come alive in summer with hours playing games with your dogs in the large, private garden and soaking up the beautiful river views. Of course, the interior provides a welcome retreat whatever the weather, yet is especially cosy in winter when the lounge’s open fire comes into its own. While your pups gnaw on some tantalising chews, take the opportunity to put your feet up as the fire’s amber glow warms your toes and turn on the TV for a film. Round off the day with dinner cooked up in the well-equipped kitchen/diner before heading upstairs to one of the three cosy bedrooms.
While there is no parking at the property itself, you can leave your car in one of the nearby car parks and seize the opportunity to explore on foot. With eager pups on leads, explore Polruan village before climbing aboard the ferry to nearby Fowey (where ferries also run to Mevagissey and Boddinick). If your paddy-pawed pals love the beach, make sure you stroll along the coast path to dog-friendly Polridmouth Cove, a real hidden gem that is great for paddling in summer.
