Settle down for a comfortable stay at this enticing Dorset cabin and take your furry friend with you. Three guests and one happy hound are welcome at the Alpine-style, wooden property, which is set on the fringes of Child Okeford. Enjoy long walks through the undulating countryside then return home via an inviting, dog-friendly pub for a Sunday roast and a much-needed bowl of water. Relax at home on the covered balcony or watch the pup run about in the enclosed lawned garden.

Climb the exterior stairs up to this charming home and find warm and welcoming accommodation featuring an abundance of wooden facets. Discover that the heart of the home is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where Rex can stretch out in comfort while you choose a film to watch on the Smart TV. Find the sofa bed in here too, which can accommodate an extra adult if need be and there is generous space for preparing meals, dining and settling your four-legged friend down for the night. When it comes to laying your own head down on a pillow, make your way through to either the comfortable single or the double bedroom, and find a shower room close by. Light the BBQ outside on warm evenings; throw a ball for your pal while dinner sizzles, then dine in the fresh air. Find parking for two cars at the lodge.

Lace up your hiking boots, grab the lead and head off on a 0.5-mile walk to Hambleton Hill. Climb the Iron Age fort to breathe in the spectacular views. Pick up the 75-mile-long Blackmore Vale Path at Shillingstone, 1.5 miles away, which follows ancient tracks through Hardy Country.
