Invigorating coastal walks or quiet strolls round seaside towns – bring your small or medium canine friend and enjoy a getaway for all the family in this characterful cottage. You’ll find authentic country charm in every corner of this beautiful holiday home – from the open fire in the lounge to the three delightful bedrooms, it’s a truly beautiful getaway where you can really unwind.
The cottage is Grade II-listed, and you can see evidence of its history all around, including deep windows, sloping ceilings and rustic, stone floors (lovely and cool for your pet in the summer months!). Welcoming touches throughout include art, books and tongue-and-groove panelled walls, with pretty, soft colours as accents. The large lounge includes an eclectic range of seating, an open fire within an exposed-stone surround and a TV plus DVD player. The kitchen, though compact, is a convenient, galley-style space in which everything you’ll need for holiday cooking is provided. Also on the ground floor is the children’s room, with bunk beds for two and a single bed. Head up the cottage-style stairs to the first floor to reach the other two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both with beautiful metal beds and sharing a sweet family bathroom. As for outside space, let your hound enjoy the sunshine in the private courtyard area while you relax with a coffee or an aperitif. You can also use the lawned garden, which is shared with the cottage next door.
The delightful village of Worth Matravers is surrounded by wonderful walks – pop your mutt on the lead and enjoy the Smugglers’ Ways, leading to the coast, or the Priests Way, an ancient track once followed by medieval monks. In 1 mile you can be on the South West Coast Path, while the town of Swanage is just 4.5 miles – where your canine companion can run on Monkey Beach all year round.
