Thoughtfully designed to accommodate both pets and families, this delightful cottage on the North Devon coast is complete with endless farmland to explore, an exercise field for pets and other amenities including a heated outdoor pool and children’s play area. Offering something for the whole pack to shout (or bark) about, this converted cottage sleeps four humans and two beloved canine companions. Keep your pups on their leads as you wander through livestock-packed fields around the property before coming home to let pets wander freely around the house, no doubt looking for the cosiest spot to curl up and dream of walkies past.
Across two storeys inside the cottage, we’re sure your dog’s favourite spot is to be found in the lounge, right by the warming wood burner-effect electric fire. This area makes up a corner of the delightful lounge/kitchen/diner, an open-plan space where all can spend some quality time together. Moving upstairs, a double and a twin bedroom invite guests with dog-tired bodies to sink into cushy beds for uninterrupted nights of rest. Outside the property, ample shared spaces including a BBQ area with picnic tables and a pretty orchard invite al fresco evenings, providing Fido and Rover are happy to relax with their leads on.
Follow a delectable country road down towards Westward Ho! Beach (1.5 miles) and venture towards the section by Sandymere (2 miles) where dogs are welcome to run all year round. This beach is backed by scenic sand dunes and the Northam Burrows Country Park, a great spot to lob a tennis ball or two and let your pets off the lead. From here you can also embark on a never-ending walk along the stretch South West Coast Path, heading towards the Hartland Heritage Coast on foot or four paws (11 miles).
