Walkers, cyclists, shoppers and history buffs will love this contemporary-style property which has every creature comfort for four guests and one pup pal to explore this magnificent region. Shops, dog-friendly pubs, country walks and public transport to Sheffield (7 miles), are all within walking distance, and free parking is available at the nearby car park.
Take a short step into this wonderful property with contemporary chic style. The open-plan kitchen has an island for food preparation and happy hour, and it’s well-equipped to make chores minimal so that guests can unwind and pay extra attention to Fido. He’ll appreciate the underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, and the toasty wood burner in the stylish lounge. Bifold doors lead from the kitchen on to a dining patio and fully enclosed south-facing lawn; a hound couldn’t wish for more after a long day hillwalking with friends. There’s also a shower room with a WC on this floor, and two bright and airy bedrooms upstairs with moorland views for peaceful relaxation.
There are spectacular walking and bike trails in the national park (1 mile), plus steep rock faces for courageous climbers at Curbar Edge and Stanage Edge (6.5 miles). For genteel pursuits, visit Bakewell (10.5 miles), and savour the legendary Bakewell Tart, or head to Chesterfield (11 miles), for markets, independent shops, eateries, and its most fascinating feature - the crooked spire of the parish church. Renishaw Hall and Gardens (10 miles) welcomes dogs on leads in the 19th-century Italianate gardens where delphiniums and roses bloom, though woodland butterflies, dragonflies and birds may be higher on Fido’s wish list; source homegrown wine here or book a vineyard tour in high season. Further afield, the spa town of Buxton (22 miles) boasts natural spring water, an ancient market, arts and culture.
