From the dramatic peak of Pen-Y-Fan to the gentle meandering riverside of the River Tawe, there are waggy-tailed walks at every turn in the Brecon Beacons. Head to the beautiful 40-acre Craig-Y-Nos Country Park (6 miles) for a gentle walk through woodland, lakes and meadows, or pay a visit to the mysterious Dan Yr Ogof caves (7 miles), which welcomes dogs. Jump in the car for a scenic drive through the Black Mountains to Llandovery (25 miles), with its pretty pastel-painted houses and selection of dog-friendly pubs or head up to the bustling town of Brecon (25 miles), from where you can pick up the beautiful Usk Valley Walk.
